An exciting role has opened up in Lifestory for a Store Assistant. We welcome applications from experienced candidates.
The role requires a friendly, efficient and capable individual with sales and customer service experience. A knowledge of and an interest in design & interiors is essential.
Experience required
You will be experienced in a retail, ideally in a sales environment that reflects similarities to Lifestory e.g. a brand or lifestyle or concept store.
You are are a self-motivated individual who is capable of taking responsibility for all aspects of the store when on duty. You'll be someone who truly cares about the customer experience and has exceptional attention to detail. You'll have experience of an electronic POS, we use Shopify.
As we have an in-store cafe bar, preference will be given to applicants who have barista experience. You should outline this in your application.
There is scope to use and develop any wider skills you bring to the team e.g. product photography, social media, e-commerce, visual merchandising etc and you should outline those in your application.
The role is focussed around day-to-day operations which includes customer service, stock management, receiving deliveries, processing online orders, assisting with visual merchandising, barista duties & maintaining the store's cleanliness and appearance. A good memory for products, details and customers is essential and you'll be joining a continual learning environment with staff training a regular part of your schedule.

Renumeration details
Salary details: £12.70 starting hourly rate + bonus opportunities.
Benefits: Contributory staff pension scheme, statutory annual leave, a generous staff discount and lots of perks. The hourly rate has potential to grow beyond the starting rate.
The full renumeration package will be outlined with the successful candidate.
Days of work: The role is 2-3 days per week. Weekend work is central to this role (though rota management ensures some weekends are off).
As a retail team, all staff cover additional hours in the peak season pre-Christmas and you will be required to do extra shifts in this time and when other staff members are on leave.
