We're very excited to introduce this hot chocolate to our shop – celebrating the detail and nuances of cacao from bean to cup. Made by Bare Bones using their bean to bar chocolate, this hot chocolate is handcrafted in micro-batches using single-origin Dominican cacao and stone-ground Maldon sea salt.
What is bean to bar or bean to cup? Bean to bar is the process of making chocolate from raw cacao bean to finished chocolate bar/flakes. Bare Bones is so proud to be one of very few UK producers who craft from bean to bar.
Made using bean to bar chocolate, our hot chocolate is handcrafted in micro-batches using single-origin Madagascan cacao.
This is a beautifully balanced hot chocolate. Rich in deep chocolate tones and bursting with taste notes of red berries and maple syrup – working very well with cows milk and alternatives. It displays the natural complexity of the cacao without additives, flavourings or excess sugars.

Add 150ml of milk (we recommend full-fat cows milk or Oat whole milk) to a saucepan with 30g of chocolate and put on low heat. Mix with a whisk until all the chocolate is melted. Continue to heat until warmed through - make sure not to simmer or overheat.
This ratio really displays the quality of the cacao creating an incredibly special hot chocolate.
